Shane Carter joined Jackson Purchase Medical Associates in October 2001 to lead the company's aggressive growth strategies in the western Kentucky market. Upon his arrival, Mr. Carter restructured the organization while carefully selecting a talented management team to lead the organization into the future. In the past seven years the group has successfully recruited eight additional physicians to the market while adding much needed services in Endocrinology, Family Practice and rural primary care services. With the creation of an MSO organization in 2007, Mr. Carter led the organization into an aggressive diversification phase which included the purchase of Four Rivers Clinical Research Inc.

Prior to joining JPMA, Mr. Carter was a Senior Administrator for Christus Primary Care Net of Texas, a 42 physician primary care group located in San Antonio Texas, from 1994 to 1999. Mr. Carter's responsibilities included operational and financial oversight to 16 primary care clinics where he worked to improve the overall customer satisfaction results by 12% during his tenure.

Mr. Carter graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a double major in Economics and History. Mr. Carter is a member of the American College of Medical Practice Executives and currently serves as the President of the Purchase Area Medical Group Management Association and Secretary for the Kentucky Medical Group Management Association.
